Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds


The last Will and Testament of Thomas McPherson made by him at Stellarton the Sixth day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Eighty Five.

I Thomas McPherson being infirm in body but of sound disposing mind and memory, Do hereby make this my last Will and Testament.

Frist. I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Janet McPherson all the property of which I doe possessed Real and personal. To Have and to hold the same while she continues my widow, at her death or marriage the same to revert to my family and be divided in equal shares or otherwise as the executors may deem most advantageous by give the property to my son Clarence H. McPherson on his paying the other heirs such portions as may be due them on an equitable division of the Estate.

Secondly. I desire my beloved wife and children to never forget their duty to their Creator and also to each other, to live agreeable with each other, the children obedient to the parent and anxious at all times to render her every aid and assistance for their support and maintenance.

Thirdly. I desire that my family may remain together at the Homestead until they have a prospect of making a Home for themselves,

I hereby appoint James W. McPherson and John Weir executors of my last Will.

In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand Seal this fifth Day day of October A.D. 1883.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Thomas McPherson, late of Stellarton in the County of Pictou, Miner, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 30th. day of September A.D. 1886.
