Estate of John McPherson late of McLellan’s Mountain, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
In the name of God, Amen.
I, John McPherson, of McLellan’s Mountain in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, Farmer, being by the mercy of God of sound and disposing mind and memory, taking into consideration the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death, Do make and ordain this my last Will and testament in manner and form following,
Frist, I commit my Soul to God hoping for the remission of all my sins through the merits and mediation of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ And I order my body to be decently buried by my Executors hereinafter named, and as the worldly property wherewith it has pleased God to bless me, I dispose of as follows –
Secondly, I give and devise all and Singular my Real Estate, situate lying and being on McLellan’s Mountain in the County of Pictou, and Province aforesaid containing one Hundred acres, more or lefs, with al and Singular the buildings and appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining to my beloved wife Sarah and to her heirs.
Thirdly, I give and devise to my said beloved wife Sarah, One half of the Grist Mill Situate on McLellan’s Mountain aforesaid know as “McPherson’s Mill” and to her heirs.
Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah as aforesaid all my personal property consisting of Farm stock, Farming utensil, carriage, Sleigh, i.e. and al and every kind ad description of personal goods and chattels including all my household furniture and Beds and Bedclothes and also all debts and Credits f every kind and description which I may own or possess at the time of my death after the payment of all lawful debts due and owing by me which my Executors are to do out of the personal property herein bequeathed, and the residue is to be the property of my beloved wife Sarah as aforesaid.
Lastly, I hereby nominate and appoint as Executor and Executrix of this my last Will and testament, Donald McPherson my brother and Sarah my beloved wife, and now declare this as my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me made.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one and a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of John McPherson, late of McLellan’s Mountain in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou, this third day of August A.D. 1881.
