Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou

In the name of God, Amen.

I Flora McPherson of Glen McLellan’s Brook in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, Spinster, being through the mercy of God of sound disposing mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death do make publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking any and all wills by me heretofore made.

First – I commit my soul to God hoping of the forgiveness of all my sins through the merits and ministration of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and my body to be decently buried by my executors hereinafter named and my worldly property I dispose of as follows –

Second - I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved sister Christie during the term of her natural life all my real estate situate and being at Thorburn in the County of Pictou consisting of a lot of land and Dwelling house and outhouses and after the death of my said sister Christie I give and devise the said lot of land with the appurtenances to my beloved nephew Alexander McDonald of Thorburn Merchant and his heirs and assigns forever.

Third – I give and bequeath to my beloved niece Mary Jane McPherson daughter of my brother Alexander of Goldindale in the State of Washington in the United States of America all my personal property goods and chattels of every kind and description which may be owned by me or in my possession at the time of my death to be her and her heirs and assigns.

Fourth - I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my nephew John McDonald of Greenwood in the County of Pictou executors of this my last Will and Testament,

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto subscribed my hand and affixed my Seal this twentieth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety eight.
