Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou

I, Catherine McPhie of Bridgeville in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia (Farmer) being of sound and disposing mind and memory make this my last Will.

I give devise and bequeath my estate and property real and personal as follows, that is to say: - The farm, stock, house and furniture to James Forbes my brother during his lifetime, after his death those things to revert to Dan Forbes my brother.

The farm formerly owed by Alexander Forbes my brother I give him back, and two hundred dollars and a note that I hold of his for two hundred and thirty-five dollars. If Dan my brother would like to give the Forbes property to Alexander my brother for the money he would be at liberty to do so.

To Mrs. Clare Mills the sum of three hundred dollars, and Anna M. Grant of Stellarton one hundred dollars, and Helen Catherine Forbes of Chicago one hundred dollars. Ten dollars to the Ladies’ Missionary Society of Bridgeville, and twenty dollars to the Home Mission.

The balance of my money to be equally divided on my own people, except Twenty for St. Paul’s Church, also a monument for my own grave.

I appoint Daniel Forbes my brother of Chicago and J. H. McDonald (Merchant) of Bridgeville executors of this my Will.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have signed and sealed and published and declared this instrument as my will, at Bridgeville in the County of Pictou, on this fifth day of November, A.D., 1910.

The said Catherine McPhie, at aid pace, on said day signed and sealed this Instrument and published and declared the same as and for her last Will and we at her request and in her presence, and in the presence of each other have hereunto written our names as subscribing witnesses.

McPhie late of Bridgeville in the County of Pictou Married Woman deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 16th. day of November AD 1910.
