Estate of Hugh Cameron, late of Elgin, Yeoman, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
In the name of God Amen. I, Hugh Cameron Yeoman of Elgin West Branch East River County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia being at present weak and infirm of body but in the full and free possession of all my mental faculties, and considering the uncertainty of human life, Do hereby make and ordain this is the last Will and Testament.
First and principally I commend my Soul to God who gave it, my body I commit to the earth to be buried in such Christian manner as my Executors hereafter mentioned shall deem fit, Such worldly substance and goods with which God has blessed me and of which I may died possessed I dispose of in the manner and form following, that is to say, Immediately after my death I enjoin my executors hereafter mentioned to sell and dispose of all my property to the best advantage, the barn to be sold separately by itself, and the house to be sold separately by itself, after which they will dispose of the Real Estate and other personal property the whole of the proceeds to be invested (that is after all my legal debts are discharged) to the best advantages, the interest of which will be used to maintain and support my beloved wife Eliza Cameron. The proceeds of the above property at the death of my said wife Eliza Cameron I hereby dispose of as follows, I give devise and bequeath to my beloved son Angus Cameron forty dollars, together with the whole of mu share of a meadow lot situated near Langley's river and hereby reserved for my said well beloved son Angus out of my real estate first mentioned. I give devise and bequeath to my well beloved son Samuel Cameron twenty five cents. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved son John Cameron twenty five cents. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved son Daniel Cameron Twenty five cents. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved daughter Ellen McDonald Sixty dollars. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved son William Cameron twenty five cents. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved son David Cameron twenty five cents. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved son Hugh Cameron forty dollars together with my hunting instruments hereby reserved out of my first mentioned personal property, and would recommend that the said hunting instruments be preserved as an heirloom in the family. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved son Duncan Cameron twenty five cents. I give devise and bequeath to my granddaughter Eliza Cameron (Samuel's daughter) eight dollars. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved granddaughter Eliza (Angus's daughter) Eight dollars. I give devise and bequeath to my grandson David Ross Cameron ten dollars, I give devise and bequeath to my grandson Ira Cameron ten dollars. I give devise and bequeath to my grandson William Hugh Cameron five dollars. I hereby ordain and order twenty five dollars for a memorial stone on my grave. I hereby recommend that my beloved wife at my death go to reside with my beloved son Hugh, and if she lives peaceably and comfortably with him, and he supports her comfortably during her natural life. I give devise and bequeath unto my said son Hugh Cameron an additional forty dollars. If she cannot live comfortably with him, and goes to reside with any other of my sons or my daughter then the last bequeath of forty dollars to my son Hugh to be cancelled and given to that son or daughter who maintains her most suitably.
If at the death of my beloved wife Eliza Cameron there is any money remaining after the above bequeaths are paid I hereby devise and bequeath it to my son Angus Cameron, my daughter Ellen McDonald and my son Hugh Cameron, of one dollar to Angus Cameron, four dollars to Ellen McDonald, and fifty cents to Hugh Cameron, and if there is not enough to pay the above bequeaths, it is to be deducted from the legatees in the proportion laid down.
I hereby appoint my beloved friend Daniel Shaw of Elgin, and my beloved son Hugh Cameron joint Executors in this my said last Will and Testament, and I hereby cancel and annul all and every former wills and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and set my seal before witnesses on this tenth day of October A.D. 1881.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of three pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Hugh Cameron late of Elgin in the County of Pictou, Yeoman, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
