Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

This is the last Will and testament of me Hector McMillan of Pictou in the County of Pictou, Blacksmith.

I, Hector McMillan of Pictou in the County of Pictou and Province o Nova Scotia Blacksmith being of sound and disposing mind and memory do hereby make publish and declare this my last Will and testament in manner following, that is to say-

I do revoke all former wills or Testaments or Codicils thereto made or published  by me and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.

I hereby nominate, constitute appoint my son Hector McMillan to be the Executor and my beloved wife Jessie McMillan to be the Executrix of this my last Will and Testament.

I will devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Jessie McMillan the lot of land and the houses and buildings thereon and al the appurtenances to the same belonging on which I now reside, which said lot of land is situate on Chapel Street in the town of Pictou, to be held by her for and during the term of her natural life and upon her death to go to my beloved son Hector McMillan his heirs and assigns forever.

I will devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Jessie McMillan all the household furniture belonging to me as it now is in the house in which I now reside at Chapel Street aforesaid in the Town of Pictou.

I will devise and bequeath to my beloved son Hector McMillan his heirs and assigns forever, the lot of land and buildings thereon situate on Creighton Street so called in the Town of Pictou, and used and occupied by my Blacksmithing establishment.

I will devise and bequeath to my beloved son Hector McMillan all the tools machines and utensils of every nature and sort whatsoever now belonging to me and in use in the said Blacksmithing Establishment on Creighton Street aforesaid.

I direct my said Executor and Executrix to collect in the debts, due and owing to me, and to realize upon all such choses in action and claims that I may own or that I may have at the time of death and out of the proceeds of the same to pay off and discharge all my just and lawful debts and to hand the balance if any to my beloved wife Jessie McMillan.

It is my wish if my son Alexander McMillan should wish to be allowed to work with my said son Hector McMillan in the said Blacksmithing establishment as hereinbefore previously given absolutely to said Hector McMillan he should be allowed to do so.

In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and affixed Seal to this my last Will and Testament this twenty fifth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighty nine.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Hector McMillan, late of Pictou in the County of Pictou, Blacksmith, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 19th. day of May A.D. 1889.
