Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou

This is the Last Will and Testament of me George P. McLeod of Pleasant Valley of Pictou in the County of Pictou Farmer.

My will is first that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid also that my name be engraved on the monument I have already placed on the lot in the Pleasant Valley grave yard where I desire my mortal remains to be laid all of which I desire my Executors hereinafter appointed to have done and paid for.

The residue and remainder of my real and personal property which shall not be refunded for such purposes I hereby dispose of as follows I hereby desire my Executors hereinafter appointed as aforesaid to sell all my estate both real and personal and mixed (except such articles as I have herein specified and devised) at the most advantageous time and in the most advantageous way for my legatees, the proceeds of such sale and disposition 1. I hereby give and devise to Mrs. John Ross wife of John Ross Butcher Two hundred Dollars.

2. I hereby give and devise to Mrs. Frank Kerr wife of Frank Kerr Sawyer one hundred Dollars.

3. Also my gold watch and chain.

3. I give and devise to Isabella Curry my cousin seventy five dollars.

4. I hereby give and devise to Isabella Ross my niece fifty dollars.

5. I hereby give and devise to William Ross Pleasant Valley forty dollars for the reducing the debt of the Gairloch Church Manse.

6. I hereby give and devise to my friend Neil Ross of Pleasant Valley Twenty dollars.

7. I hereby give and devise to my friend John MacKay Pleasant Valley Twenty dollars.

8. I hereby give and devise to my friend Angus McLeod Pleasant Valley Twenty dollars.

9. I hereby give and devise to my friend George Ross Twenty dollars and my new suit of clothes.

10. I hereby give and devise to my friend Jessie McKenzie wife of Alexander McKenzie Twenty dollars.

11. I hereby give and devise to John W. McLeod Shoemaker my friend Twenty dollars.

12. I hereby order that after the above sums of moneys is aid over to the proper heirs should there be any balance left I hereby devise the same to Mrs. John Ross and Mrs. Frank Kerr above mentioned equally share and share alike.

13. Should there not be a sufficient set amount to give each heir the sums appointed their names then in that case each one will be reduced in proportion to their share.

I hereby nominate and appoint my two friends William Ross of Pleasant Valley Farmer and John F. Oliver of Wentworth Merchant, Executors of this my last Will.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand this Tenth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

I John D. McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of George p. McLeod late of Pleasant Valley in the County of Pictou Farmer deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the twentieth day of May AD 1902.
