Estate of James P. McLennan late of Pictou, Painter, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I James P. McLennan of Pictou, in the County of Pictou, Painter, do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all wills by me heretofore made.

I give and devise all the messuage lot f land and premises in the Town of Pictou whereupon I now reside to my beloved wife Eliza A. McLennan for the term of her natural life.

I give devise and bequeath al the residue and remainder of my estate real and personal to my said wife absolutely to her own use forever.

After the decease of my said wife I give and devise all the said homestead lot in the Town of Pictou to my son Lowrey P. McLennan provided he remains at home and provides for maintenance and supports his mother in a full and capable manner as she has hitherto been supported, and provided for so long as she shall live and also provided he furnishes his sister Maggie G. McLennan with a home, board and bedding on said homestead so long as she shall desire it and remain unmarried. Should my son Lowrey P. McLennan cease to reside at home, or fail to provide for his mother and sister as abovementioned without their consent, I will and direct that the entire estate in fee in said homestead lot shall devolve upon my said wife absolutely.

I hereby appoint my wife Eliza A. McLennan and son Frederick McLennan Executors of this my last Will.

In witness whereof I have hereunto Subscribed my hand this seventh day of August A.D. 1889.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page and part of a page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of James P. McLennan, late of Pictou in the County of Pictou, Painter, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 24th. day of February A.D. 1890.
