Estate of Hugh McLennan late of Fish Pools, Blacksmith, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

This is the last Will and testament of Hugh McLennan of Fish Pools in the County of Pictou, Blacksmith.

1. I give and bequeath to my wife Isabella one cow, three sheep, and all my Household furniture and Kitchen utensils, also I bequeath to her for maintenance during her lifetime to be provided and delivered to her by Robert my son hereinafter mentioned the following yearly portion namely two Barrels of Flour, two hundred pounds of Oatmeal Fifty pounds of Pork, One hundred pounds of beef, six pounds of tea, and thirty pounds of sugar, also sufficient and suitable fuel ready prepared for one fire at all seasons of the year,

And also during her lifetime the sole use and occupancy o the two rooms in the north end of my house known as the parlor and bedroom adjoining and also the privilege of using the cellar and upper flat of the house for al purposes for which she may require the same, also twelve bushels of potatoes yearly and also my said son Robert shall when required by her my said wife to take her with his horse and vehicle to Church or any where she may wish to go.

2. I give and bequeath to Christy Ann my daughter the privilege of a home in my house with Robert my said son including food and all the other comforts enjoyed by his family at any time she may wish to live with him during the time she may remain unmarried, and also after the death of my wife I bequeath to her my said daughter the sole use and occupancy of the parlor or larger room occupied by my wife during her lifetime which room she my said daughter shall have he sole use of during the time she shall remain unmarried.

3. I give and bequeath to Robert my son all of my real estate and personal property remaining after my lawful debts funeral expenses and also the bequests hereinbefore mentioned are paid and delivered, Provided always that he my said son Robert shall for the due maintenance and support o my wife Isabella provide and deliver or cause to be delivered to her my said wife yearly and every year during her lifetime that following articles that is to say, two barrels pf good flour, two hundred pounds of Oatmeal, twelve bushels of potatoes, fifty pounds of pork, one hundred pounds of beef, six pounds of tea, thirty pounds of sugar, also provide and deliver to her a sufficient quantity of suitable fuel for one fire ready prepared for her use at all times and every year during her lifetime and also that he the said Robert my son shall feed in his barn an with his feed and also pasture during the grazing season yearly and every year during her lifetime for my said wife one Cow and three sheep and also he shall give her without molestation of any kind the sole use and occupancy o the two north rooms in my house and also the privilege of using both the cellar and upper flat of my house for al purposes for which she may require them and at all times during her lifetime and also he my said son shall at all times when required take my wife to church or any where she may wish to go in his vehicle, and also he my said son Robert shall at all times while she remains unmarried and when she may wish to live with him give my daughter Christy Ann the privilege of a home in his house and with his family including food ad all other comforts enjoyed by his family.

I Hugh McLennan the above testator having neglected to appoint executors in the body of this my last Will and Testament do appoint Daniel Robertson of Fish Pools and Isabella McLennan my wife as executors of this my last Will and testament.
