Estate of Simon McLean late of Carriboo Island, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
This is the last Will and testament of me Simon McLean of Carriboo Island County of Pictou, Farmer.
First. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth McLean, forty acres of the farm that I now reside on to be laid of on the East side joining the lands of Matthew Harris with the one half of the House ad Barn during her lifetime should she survive me.
I also devise ad bequeath to my two daughters namely Nancy McLean & Margaret McLean the forty acres above named after the death of my beloved wife Elizabeth McLean, with the house and buildings now on the farm subject to my son Finley McLean having the use of one half of the House until he erects one for himself on his side of the farm.
I also give to my son Finley McLean the one half of the stock on the farm after my death or at the time of my death.
I give devise and bequeath to my son Finley McLean the other side of my farm containing fifty acres more or less, to have and to hold the same to him an his heirs forever.
Lastly I also give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth McLean all the residue of my property of whatsoever nature after my death, and all my just debts being paid to be disposed of as she thinks fit should she survive me.
And I nominate and appoint Alexander McKenzie of Carriboo Island, and Donald Fraser of Acadia Farm Esquire, executors of this my last Will and testament, hereby revoking all other and former wills.
In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and Seal Subscribed and Set at Carriboo Island this the fifteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty two.

Signed Sealed and published and declared by the testator to be his last Will and testament in the presence of us, who in each other’s presence have witnessed the execution thereof.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Simon McLean, late of Carriboo Island in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 30th. day of April A.D. 1887.
