Estate of Alexander McLean late of McLellan’s Mountain, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

In the name of God, Amen.

I Alexander McLean of McLellan’s Mountain in the County of Pictou, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, aware also of the certainty of death and the uncertain time thereof, do make and publish this my last Will and testament, as follows –

1St. I give and bequeath to my son John David McLean – my right an title to or in that certain piece or parcel of land known as the acres, Situated between the lands of John and Catherine McLean and Margaret Ann Stewart, supposed to contain two acres more or less, to him his heirs and assigns forever.

Second. I give and bequeath unto my son Daniel Morrison McLean, my right & title to or in that certain piece or parcel of land Situated at McLellan’s Mountain, known as part of the Big Mountain lot, supposed to be No. 2, containing twenty four acres, more or less to him and his heirs forever.

Third. I give and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth McLean, that certain piece or parcel of land I now reside on, situated between John Forbes and Donald McLean’s, containing one hundred Acres, more or less, during her natural life, afterwards to become the property of my male children who may remain with her to work the farm, to them and their heirs forever also stock, buildings and farming utensils.

I name and constitute my son John David McLean and my nephew John W. McLean and Elizabeth McLean my executor, of this my last Will and testament, Dated this twenty second day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty one.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Alexander McLean, late of McLellan’s Mountain in the County of Pictou, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
