Estate of Joshua Vincent late of Pictou, Yeoman, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I, Joshua Vincent late of Pictou in the County of Pictou, Yeoman, being of sound mind Do hereby make, constitute and publish this my last Will and Testament.

First -

I give devise and bequeath all the Real Estate consisting at present of Lands and houses situate in the Town of Pictou aforesaid which I may die possesses or entitled unto to my youngest son Philip Vincent To Have and To Hold the same to him and his heirs forever.

Second,

I direct that my said wife Hannah Vincent during her natural life have the use of the Four rooms in the New end of the House which I build on the East end of the house I bought from Capt. James Fraser and which I now occupy as a dwelling house free of Rent.

Third,

I give devise and bequeath to my said son Philip Vincent my Tool chest, clothes chest, and writing Desk, with their contents complete.

Fourth,

I give devise and bequeath to my wife Hannah Vincent all the remaining portion of my personal Property, consisting of Beds bedding, furniture, cooking utensils ie. for her own use benefit and behoof forever also her right of Dower to al te Land and house herein devised to my son Philip Vincent.

Fifth,

I do nominate and appoint Mayhew T. Smith Esquire of Pictou aforesaid to be the Sole Executor of this my last Will and testament and the Legal Guardian of my said son Philip Vincent and I hereby authorize him to advance and dispose of such portion of my said Estate as he may deem necessary during the minority of my said son Philip Vincent in giving him suitable maintenance.

In witness whereof I the said Joshua Vincent have hereto Set and subscribed my hand and Seal this Twenty first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Seventy two.

Signed sealed Published and declared by the said Joshua Vincent as and for his last Will and Testament before us the subscribers, who his presence, and in the presence of each other have hereto subscribed our names as witnesses.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Joshua Vincent late of Pictou, in the County of Pictou, Yeoman, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this thirteenth day of April A.D. 1880.
