Will of Daniel McKenna, deceased

Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou

I Daniel McKenna of Pictou in the County of Pictou, Yeoman, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament.

I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved daughter Lena McKenna the organ and stool belonging thereto and now in my possession and being in my dwelling house where I now reside and also one hundred dollars to be paid to her by my son Daniel McKenna hereinafter mentioned.

I give, devise and bequeath to my said son Daniel McKenna Jr. all my Real Estate and personal property of whatsoever kind and wheresoever situate including the two lots of land situate on the north side of Prince Albert Street in the Town of Pictou and the dwelling house and belongings thereon and the household furniture in said dwelling (excepting the organ above mentioned as bequeathed to my daughter Lean McKenna) subject nevertheless to the maintenance and support during the natural life of my beloved wife Ellen Gorman McKenna who is to be provided for and supported by my said son Daniel McKenna Jr. during the term of her natural life and also subject to the maintenance and support of my said daughter Len a McKenna so long as she shall remain unmarried who is to have a home with my said son Daniel McKenna Jr. during said time which she remains single.

I nominate constitute and appoint my said son Daniel McKenna Jr., Executor of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all wills at any time made by me.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal at Pictou aforesaid this 21st. day of April AD 1896.

Signed, Sealed and declared by the above named Testator as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us, who in the presence of each other, and in the presence of the said Testator, all being present at the same time, at his request have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. (Being first read over and explained to the said testator who seemed perfectly to understand the same and affixed of it.)

McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Daniel McKenna late of Pictou in the County of Pictou Yeoman deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 25th. day of September AD 1902.
