Will of Adam McKean, deceased
Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou
I Adam McKean of the Town of Pictou in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, Carpenter, do declare this my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke all Dower and other wills codicils and Testamentary dispositions and appointments by me at any time heretofore made.
I give devise and bequeath all my property real and personal of whatever kind nature and description and wheresoever situate at my executors hereinafter named in Trust to be applied and distributed as is hereinafter directed
I direct my said Executors after my funeral and Testamentary expenses and all my just debts have been paid to cause to be erected a suitable stone monument on the Cemetery Lot and to have engraved on said monument the name of my beloved wife and of myself and the dates of our respective deaths.
I direct that my son Albert McKean be given the family Bible and also Grandfather’s Bible containing family records.
And also I direct that as much as possible of my household furniture be divided as my executors deem best among my children.
As to my real estate I direct that my executors shall either rent the same or any part or parts thereof for that time or times as they deem expedient, or sell the same or any part or parts thereof at such time or times as they may deem expedient.
Such rents or other proceeds of such sales I direct shall be divided equally between my children Albert McKean, Howard McKean, Melville McKean, James F. McKean, David A. McKean, John T. McKean, and Cordelia McDonald and in the event of any of my children dying before me or before such distribution shall have been made then the share of the divided portion of the share of such child or children to go to his her heirs or their heirs and both be some part of the residue of the estate in making such division however I direct that my said executors may pay to any or all of my said children in cash or may ex[end any amount or amounts due any or all of my said children for his her or their benefit as in the discretion of my said executors deems best.
I hereby nominate and appoint my son Albert McKean my son Howard McKean and Robert McLellan of Pictou Teacher Executors of this my last Will and Testament.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I the said Adam McKean the testator have to this my last Will and Testament on this and the preceding page contained
my hand and Seal subscribed and set this twenty first day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eight.

McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Adam McKean late of Pictou in the County of Pictou Carpenter deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 28th. day of February 1910.
