Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
In the name of God, Amen
I William McKenzie of New Gairloch Settlement in the County of Pictou, being of sound mind of memory and taking into consideration the uncertainty of this frail life, Do make this my last Will and testament, namely, after all my just debts are paid,
I give & bequeath unto my daughter Janet, one cow and four sheep, and spinning wheel if she demands them.
I give and bequeath unto my daughter Catherine one cow and four sheep.
I give and bequeath unto my son George the one half of the Pew in St. Andrew’s Church, Gairloch.
I give and (words are scribble out and initialed) bequeath unto my Alexander my son, and unto his heirs all and singular the Real and personal property owned by me in the said Gairloch Settlement, and elsewhere situated and owned by me together with all and singular the remaining part of my personal and moveable property of whatever kind and value including all stock and Farming implements and Debts Due unto me,
Provided that my above named Daughters Have their living of said Property until the Remove therefrom with privilege of occupying Two Rooms of my house on the second flat and western part of said House.
I appoint and ordain Murdoch McKenzie Senr. of said Gairloch and Robert Baillie of said Settlement to be the executors of this my last Will and Testament, and I utterly Revoke and disannul all former former wills & Testaments by me made and appointed.
Signed, Sealed, Published and declared as my last Will and Testament, This seventh Day of June in the year of Lord One Thousand eight Hundred and Seventy nine in the presence of Kenneth Ross and Murdoch McKenzie of Gairloch who have also subscribed their names in the presence od each other and in the presence of the Testator.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page and part of a page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of William McKenzie, late of New Gairloch in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 30th. day of August A.D. 1882.
