Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou

I, Jessie McKenzie, of the Town of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, Widow, do make and publish this my last will and testament;

First: I hereby devise and bequeath to my brother, David McNair, my property in the Town of Antigonish for his lifetime to be a home for himself and his wife as long as they live. In the event of my brother pre-deceasing his wife the property is to go to her for the remainder of her life. After the death of my brother, David McNair and his wife the property is to become the absolute property of their son, Howard McNair.

I hereby direct that six shares of the stock of British North America which I hold shall be sold, and out of the proceeds of the same I give and bequeath One Hundred (100) Dollars to my sister, Margaret Anderson, wife of James Anderson.

The remainder of the proceeds of the sale of the said shares shall be forthwith paid to the Commandant of the Salvation Army in Canada or other proper officer paid out as follows: - One-half to b expended for the benefit of the Salvation Army in New Glasgow in such way as the commandant or other proper officer in his discretion may think best. The other half to be used for the support of the Salvation Army Rescue Home at Halifax, N.S.

I give, devise and bequeath to Caroline McQuarrie all the rest of my real and personal property whatsoever and wheresoever, including the house, shop and lot on McDonald Street, where I now reside, for the term of her natural life only. At her death everything is to be sold and the proceeds divided equally among such of my nieces as are then living or the survivor of them, and my grand-niece, Mary L. Mcgillivray, wife of E.C. Severance, if she is then living.

My intention is that each of these individuals surviving shall have an equal share.

I hereby appoint R. H. Graham of New Glasgow, N.S., Executors of this my last Will and testament.

Darted at New Glasgow in the County of Pictou this 20th. day of February A.D. 1905.

This is a codicil to the last will and testament of Jessie McKenzie of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou, Widow.

First. I hereby absolutely revoke and cancel the devise mentioned in my said last will to Howard McNair and I will and direct that my property in the Town of Antigonish shall be the absolute property of my brother David McNair and his wife during their joint lives and after the death of one shall be the absolute property of the survivor of them.

Second. The six shares of the stock of British North America mentioned in my said will means six shares of the stock of the Bank of British North America.

Third. The nieces mentioned on the second age of my said will are the following persons Mrs. Catherine McPhee of Cape George, Mrs. Charlotte Greenough of Belmont N.H., Mrs. Tildy J. Josselin of Tilton N.H., and Elizabeth Curry of Springfield Vermont.

McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament with Codicil of Jessie McKenzie late of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou Widow deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 5th. day of May AD 1911.
