Estate of Hugh McKenzie late of West Branch East River, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
In the name of God, Amen.
I, Hugh McKenzie of West Branch East River, County of Pictou, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make, order and ordain this my last Will and testament, in the manner following,
First. I resign my Soul into the hand of Almighty God hoping and believing a remission of my sins through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ, and my body I commit to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named and my worldly estate, I give and devise as follows.
Second. I give and devise to James McKenzie my son, the Farm on which I now reside, providing he will keep and maintain his mother by providing for her all the necessaries of life, according to her rank, and that he will allow his two sisters Amy & Margaret and the little girl Margaret Catherine to make their home with their mother as long as she lives.
Thirdly. I give and devise to Nancy my daughter the sum of Five pounds of my personal property.
Fourthly. I give and devise to Margaret my daughter the sum of Five pounds currency of my personally property.
Fifthly. I give and devise to Margaret Catherine Robertson my grandchild the sum of Five pounds currency of my personal property.
Sixthly. I give and devise to Margaret my beloved wife the remainder of my personally property.
Sixthly. I name and constitute Alexander Urquhart and Duncan McDonald my Executors.
In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Eighteenth day of April in the year of our Lord ne thousand eight hundred and Sixty five.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page and part of a page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Hugh McKenzie late of West Branch East River in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 30th. of November A.D. 1882.
