Will of Alex McKenzie, deceased
Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou
In the name of God, Amen. I Alexander McKenzie of Mill Brook in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia being in poor bodily health, and of sound and disposing mind and memory, calling to mind the frailty of human life, and being desirous of settling my worldly affairs, and directing how the estates which it has pleased God to bless me, shall be disposed of after my decease, while I have the strength and capacity so to do, do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making nul and void all other last wills and testament by me heretofore made.
As to all my worldly estate, and all the property, real, personal or mixed, of which I shall die seized and possessed, or which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, I devise, bequeathed and dispose thereof in the manner following, to wit: -
My will is, that all my just debts and funeral charges shall, by my executors hereinafter named, to be paid out of my estate, as soon after my decease as shall by them be found convenient.
Item. My real estate situated at New Gairloch adjoining the property of John McKenzie and also the lot adjoining the property of Murdock McKenzie, also the property in Mill Brook commonly called the mill lot and adjoining the property of h late Duncan G. McDonald to be sold by my executors after my decease if not previously disposed of.
Item. The remainder of my personal property shall be divided into twelve (12) shares.
I give and devise to my daughter Maria five and one half shares, to my son William two shares, to my daughter Elizabeth two shares, to my daughter Jessie two shares, and to Jessie McPherson adopted daughter of Hector Sutherland one-half share.
Item. The real property if disposed off before my decease the proceeds to be added to my personal property ad divided as above mentioned.
Lastly I do nominate and appoint Angus McLeod of Burnside to be executor of this my last will and testament.
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal the twenty-second day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ten.

The above instrument, consisting of one sheet was, at the date thereof, declared to us by the testator Alexander McKenzie to be his last will and testament and he then acknowledged to each of us that the had subscribed the same; and we, at his request, sign our names hereto as attesting witnesses.

McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Alexander McKenzie late of Mill Brook Pictou in the County of Pictou deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 22nd. day of February AD 1910.
