Description Sea Shore Chums

Rules and By-Laws

        I. This Club shall be known as the Sea Shore Chums

      II.  The membership not to exceed fifteen

     III.  The officers to be President and Sect. Treas.

     IV.   No member to have greater or less than another.

      V.  If a member decides to leave he must sell his share.  He must sell on the following basis

     VI. At the end of the first year at a disc. Of 10%, at the end of the second year at a disc. Of 20%, at the end of the third year at a disc. Of 30%, etc. so that at the end of ten years his share shall have no value.

    VII. He must give first offer to the members.

   VIII. If they do not buy he may sell to an outsider who must be acceptable to every boy in the club.

     IX. If they reject his successor they must buy his share.

      X. Any member may be expelled by the majority of – vote.

     XI. Rule VIII also applies to member buying a new share.

    XII. That the initiation fee be ($4.00) four dollars and a monthly fee of 50¢

The Seashore Chums met in the Kirk Church.  Charles MacIntosh was elected President, and Harold Grant Sect. Treas.  A new rule was adopted viz:  Any member may be expelled by the majority of the vote.  Fred Murray and Charles MacIntosh were appointed to make a list of supplies for the camp.

The club then adjourned to be called together again by the Pres.

 

                                                               New Glasgow, June 18/17

Meeting of the Sea Shore Chums Club.  All members were present. 

The first business of the club was the selecting of a name for the club several were submitted and upon a vote being taken Sea Shore Chums was selected.

It was decided after some discussion that $4.00 should be remitted at the next meeting of this club.

It was decided also after some discussion the share of equipment each member should bring.

With this the meeting closed.

                                                                   New Glasgow, June 20/17

Meeting of Sea Shore Chums all members present with the exception of Ralph Davis, and Norman Murray.  The first business of the meeting was the collecting of dues.  It was remitted to the Treas.

The next business was making out of a list of food stuffs, Norman Murray and Charles MacIntosh were appointed to see about the price of articles.

With this the meeting adjourned.

                                                                New Glasgow June 28/17

Meeting of the Sea Shore chums all members present with exception of Roland Merrin* and Ralph Davis.

Four Dollars for dues were handed to the Treas. Since then the Treas. Has rec’d $4 more.  The amount of food stuffs excepting the bread and meat, was eleven dollars.

They also decided with whom they were to sleep and what clothes each should bring.  The tent was paid for.

With this the meeting closed.
