Estate of Mary A. Underwood late of River John, Married Woman, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
I, Mary Ann Underwood of River John, in the County of Pictou, wife of John Underwood, hereby make and publish this my last Will and Testament.
I give and devise all m y lands and hereditaments Satiated at Sand Marsh in the Settlement of Rive John, and all my lands and hereditaments situated at Mountain Road in the Settlement of River John, to my husband John Underwood for his life, and at the death of my said husband, to my son John Christopher Underwood his heirs and assigns forever, Provided that if my said son should die before his is twenty one years of age, I give and devise all the said lands and hereditmanets, after the death of my said husband, to my daughter Tabitha, wife of William McDonald her heirs and assigns for ever.
I give and bequeath the music organ and the grown grade Jersey cow at the date of this will situated on my lands at Sand Marsh, to my said daughter Tabitha.
I give and bequeath the residue of my personal property which is situated upon said lands at Sand Marsh, to my said husband.
I give devise and bequeath all my other property of every kind and nature, and all my estate title and interest in and to the same to my executors William McDonald and Charles E. Tanner, in trust, with and out of the same, to pay all my just debts, funeral and Testamentary expenses, and all costs and expenses connected with this will and with my estate, and then to pay Two hundred dollars, to my said daughter Tabitha, and any balance remaining to my son John Christopher Underwood..
I constitute and appoint William McDonald of River John, carriage builder, and Charles E. Tanner of Pictou, Barrister at Law Executors of this Will.
I revoke all wills by me at any former time made.
In witness whereof I have hereto Subscribed my hand this twenty second day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty seven.

Signed executed and declared by the testatrix Mary Ann Underwood in the presence of us witnesses, who at her request, in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.

Be it remembered that on this twenty second day of April A.D. 1887 before me the Subscriber a justice of the Peace in and for the County of Pictou, personally appeared Mary Ann Underwood, of River John in said County, wife of John Underwood of said River John, the testatrix mentioned in the foregoing Will, who having been by me examined, separate and apart from her said husband, did declare and acknowledge that she executed the said will freely and voluntarily as and for her own Act and deed, and without any fear, threat, compulsion, or other undue influence whatsoever, of from or by her said husband.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Mary Ann Underwood late of River John, in the County of Pictou, Married woman, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
