Will of John R. Turner, deceased
Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou
This is the last will and Testament of me John R.Turner of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou Painter.
1st. I give devise and bequeath unto my son John David Turner the small shop on west side of Provost Street in the Town of New Glasgow and now occupied by Peter Johnson Tailor also the horse harness wagons and carriages together with all the stock in trade in connection with the painting business and also the lot of land situate on Merigomish Road extending from Duncan McDonald's land on the north to John McQueen's on the south and also the sum of five hundred ($500) in cash.
2nd. I give devise and bequeath to my daughters Mary Helen Turner and Carrie Louise Turner and my son Maynard Turner after my debts are paid all the cash in the Bank together with the amount of "Insurance Policies" and also $1000 shares in the "Rush Bay Golden Horn Mining stock" all of which sums to be equally divided among them share and share alike.
3rd. I give devise and bequeath to my said daughter Mary Helen Turner the lot of land in the Town of New Glasgow and bounded on the east by the proposed extension of "Pr** Street" on the north by Rev A Roger's lot on the west by J.P. Roop's lot and on the south by Roderick McLean's lot the said lot to be sold and proceeds to be used for maintenance and education of said Maynard Aubrey Turner,
4th. I give device and bequeath to the said Mary Helen Turner, Carrie Louise Turner and Maynard Aubrey Turner the lot house barn and household furniture now occupied by me on the corner of Forbes and Albert Streets in the said Town of the New Glasgow to be a home for them so long as required but when they may be separated by marriage or otherwise the whole to be naturally arranged between themselves with the assistance of son John David Turner.
5th. I also give devise and bequeath to Mary Helen and Carrie Louise Turner the piano.
6th. I also give devise and bequeath to the said John David Turner the "Free Stone Quarry at Barney's River.
And I do nominate and appoint my son John David Turner and daughter Mary Helen Turner to be the executor and executrix of this my last will and Testament.
In testimony of which I the Testator have hereunto Set my hand this twenty sixth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and five.

I John D. McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of John R. Turner late of New Glasgow in the County of Pictou Painter deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 17th. day of January AD 1906.
