Will of John D. Reid, deceased
Certified Copy of Will for Reg of Deeds Pictou
This is the last Will and Testament John D. Reid of French River in the County of Pictou Farmer.
I the said John D. Reid being of sound and disposing mind do make and publish this my last will as follows,
First, I direct devise and bequeath that my four children shall be provided for and maintained out of my estate until they attain the age of fifteen years respectively and that my three daughters shall have a privilege of a home in the Dwelling on the homestead while they or either of them remain unmarried the portion of the house for their use to be allotted by my within named executors not to exceed one half of the said house.
2nd. I give devise and bequeath to my wife Mary Reid until my son John Mitchell is twenty one years of age the farm lot at French River in the County of Pictou on which I now reside, bounded on the east by lands of the heirs of Jacob Browning, on the south by lands of John D. Hingley, on the west by lands of Roderick G. McDonald and others, on the north by lands of the heirs of David Simpson containing one hundred and fifty acres more or less my said son John Mitchell his heirs and assigns to have and to hold the above described lot of land forever Subject to the following provisions, my said wife shall be provided for and maintained by my said son and if he neglects or refuses to do so she shall be maintained from my estate as my executors or one of them shall direct but in the event of my said wife marrying she shall have no further right or claim to my said estate.
3rd. I give devise and bequeath to my wife Mary Reid all my personal property of whatsoever nature or description which shall remain after paying all my just and lawful debts funeral expenses and proving this my last will.
I hereby nominate and appoint my wife Mary Reid and William Robertson Miller of French River executrix and executor of this my last Will and Testament.
In witness whereof I the said John D. Reid have to this my last Will and Testament subscribed my name and affixed my Seal this tenth day of January AD 1903.

I John D. McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of John D. Reid late of French River in the County of Pictou Farmer deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 16th. day of September AD 1903.
Witness my hand at Pictou this 16th. day of September AD 1903.
