Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
I Alexander R. Rettie of Stillman in the County of Pictou Esquire do make and publish my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at anytime made.
First. I nominate constitute and appoint my 2 sons Alexander Rettie and Samuel Rettie executors and trustees of this is my will.
Second. I will devise and bequeath to my beloved wife all my real estate together with all my household furniture for her own absolute use during the term of her natural life and after her death I direct my said executors and trustees to sell and dispose of the same and divide the proceeds thereof as they may see fit.
Third. I will and bequeath to my said executors and trustees all my personal property of every nature and kind and wheresoever situate excepting the aforesaid household furniture In Trust for the following purposes that is to say to convert the same into money and divide the proceeds thereof into two equal parts and further divide one half into ten equal shares and pay the same over to my children as follows,
To my daughter Lottie one tenth to my daughter May one tenth to my daughter Annie two tenths, to my son Alexander two tenths to my son Samuel two tenth and to my son James two tenths.
Should any of my said children die without issue before the final settlement of my estate than his or her share shall be added to the principle sum for division in the above proportions, but should any of my said children die leaving issue before such final settlement the amount in which said deceased son or daughter would be entitled shall be paid over to such issue.
The remaining one half of my said personal estate shall be invested by my said executors and trustees in good and safe securities the interest and profits whereof shall be paid over to my said wife half yearly during the term of her natural life and at her death whatever remains shall be divided among my said children or the survivors of them and the children of any of my said sons and daughters who may have died before my said wife in the proportions mentioned in the third clause of this my last will and testament.
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set this fifth day of May A.D. 1911.

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Alexander R. Rettie as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

I John D. McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Alexander R. Rettie late of Stellarton in the County of Pictou Esquire deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 24th. day of August AD 1911.
