Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds at Pictou

This is the last Will and Testament of me Janet McKay of Welsford River John in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia.

1. I declare this to be my last will and testament and I do hereby revoke all former Testamentary writings by me at any time heretofore made.

2. I give, devise and bequeath to my son- last three words inserted- W F C McKay, al that certain lot of land Situate at River John aforesaid and bounded on the east by the Main Road, North by James Morrison’s land, West by Peter Grant’s land and south by a Brook known as Sutherland’s Brook.

3. I give, devise and bequeath unto my said son W F C McKay and my daughter Mary Ann McKay jointly all the residue and remainder of my real and personal property and estate whatsoever belonging to me at the time of my decease.

And I do hereby appoint my said son W F C McKay and my daughter Mary Ann McKay joint executor and executrix of this my last Will and Testament.

In Witness I have hereunto set my hand this twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Signed by the above named Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament, in the presence of us present at the same time, who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other Subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. The words “to my son” on the seventh line being first inserted.

I John D. McLeod of said Court do hereby certify that the annexed paper is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Janet McKay late of Welsford in the County of Pictou Widow deceased, which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court on the 5th. day of October AD 1910.
