Estate of Hugh MacKay late of Scotch Hill, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
In the name of God, Amen. I Hugh MacKay of Scotch Hill, Pictou, Nova Scotia, being weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God, calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, Do make and ordain this my last Will and testament, that is to say, principally and first of all, I give and recommend my Soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it, and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial, at the discretion of my executors, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection, I shall receive the same again, by the mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly estate, wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form -
I give devise and bequeath to Robert McGuinnigle my nephew, all my lands, buildings, Stock, farming implements, monies and debts. To be by him freely possessed and enjoyed forever,
It is my will also that Hannah my beloved Sister shall have out of said estate an abundant home during her lifetime, as also a decent burial Christian burial.
I exempt all others in my connection by a shilling sterling.
I make constitute and ordain Angus McQuarrie and Alexander Sutherland both on the borders of Scotch Hill my Executors of this my last Will and Testament, and I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke, and disannul all and every other former testaments, wills, legacies, and bequests and executors, by me in any wise before named willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this eleventh day of May in the year of Our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and eighty six.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one and a quarter pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Hugh MacKay late of Scotch Hill in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 11th. day of May A.D. 1896.
