Estate of Daniel A. McKay late od Hardwood Hill, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

Know all me by these present that I Daniel A. McKay of Hardwood Hill, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, hereby do make my last Will and Testament in the manner following,

Firstly, I will and devise to my wife Jane my farm on which I now reside.

My mother is to have a home and living in all respects as she has been accustomed to during her natural life, also my niece Maggie who resides with my family is to have a home with my family, and my daughter Letitia May is also to have a hoe with my family while they or either of them remains unmarried.

Secondly, I will and bequeath to y said daughter Letitia May the sum of Six thousand five hundred dollars ($6,500.00)

Thirdly, I will and bequeath to my said niece Barbara (inserted before Maggie) Maggie McKay Porteous, Six hundred dollars ($600.00)

Fourthly, All the residue of the estate of all kinds and whatsoever, I will and bequeath to my wife Jane. I desire that she provide for my daughter Hazel, and my infant Child out of the residue of my estate, as she may deem best.

Lastly, I nominate and appoint George Roderick Chisholm of Pictou, Banker, and my wife Jane to be the executors of this my last Will and testament.

In toekn whereof I have hereunto my signature and Seal affixed and Set, this twenty third day of July A.D. 1899.
