Will of Ann McKay, deceased

Certified Copy for Reg of Deeds

I Ann McKay wife of David McKay Esquire of Mill Bank near Pictou in the County of Pictou do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all wills and Testamentary dispositions by me at any time heretofore made.

I make nominate and appoint my dearly beloved husband David McKay and Rev. George S. Carson of Pictou, Minister of the Gospel,executors and Trustees of this my Will

I direct my said executors and Trustees to pay my just debts (if any) funeral and Testamentary expenses.

I give and bequeath the sum of fifty dollars to the Home Mission fund of the Presbyterian Church in Canada Eastern Section.

I give and bequeath the sum of fifty dollars to the Foreign Mission fund of the Presbyterian Church in Canada Eastern Section.

I give and bequeath the sum of fifty dollars to the ** fund of the Presbyterian Church in Canada Eastern Section.

I give and bequeath the sum of fifty dollars to the French Evangelization fund of the Presbyterian Church in Canada Eastern Section and I further will and direct that this receipt of the Treasurer for this fund being of said respective funds shall be a good and support dealings to my executors and to my estate.

I give and devise to my niece Susan McCallum wife of Daniel McCallum of Pictou Island all my real estate** and property on the north side of Water Street in the Town of Pictou

I also give and bequeath to said Susan McCallum one bedroom suit consisting of one chest of drawers and stead commode with chairs and one rocking chair, and also my sewing machine, one round table, one black hair cloth sofa one sideboard also my gold watch and all my clothing.

I give and bequeath to my stepson Charles R. McKay my feather bed stead and dressing case.

All the residue and remainder of my estate of whatever nature and kind and wheresoever situate I give and devise and bequeath to my beloved husband hereinbefore named David McKay.

In Witness Whereof I have my hand subscribed to this my will this second day of June in the year of our lord one thousand nine hundred and three.

Signed published and declared by Ann McKay as and for her last Will and Testament where and while hr beloved husband David McKay was both present she the said Ann McKay declaring in the presence of us the undersigned that she executed the same of her free will and without fear or any fear threat or compliance or other undue influence of from or by her husband, seized and so executed in the presence of us both present at the same time who in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other have hereto subscribed our names as witnesses.

Ross a Notary Public and Barrister of this Supreme Court of Nova Scotia do hereby certify that on the second day of June AD 1903 upon and personally attended Ann McKay the testatrix named in this annexed and foregoing will and wife of David McKay a legatee and devisee also in said will and who having been by me examined separate and apart from her said husband do declare and acknowledge that she executed the same of her own free will and without any fear threat compulsion or other undue influence of from or by her said husband.
