Estate of Alexander MacKay late of Scotsburn, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I Alexander MacKay of Scotsburn, in the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, Farmer, do make and publish my last Will and Testament, in manner ad form following, that is to say,

1st. I will and direct that all my just and lawful debts be paid, out of the proceeds of my Estate

2nd. I give and bequeath to my son Hugh the sum of One Dollar at such time as my Executors shall direct.

3rd. I give devise and bequeath to my two Daughters Hannah and Minnie, the whole of the remainder of my real estate, and personal property of which I am possessed at the time of my decease, to be equally divided between them, on condition that they support my beloved wife Nancy, in proper manner suitable to her requirements, in health and sickness – and at all times, treat her with the love, and respect, due to her as being their mother. It is also my desire that my Daughter Christy shall have a home in the house in which I now reside, if through sickness, or other infirmity she may require the same.

4th. I hereby nominate and appoint William McIntosh of Scotsburn and John McIntosh of Dalhousie, Executors of this my last Will and Testament, giving them full power to transact all business connected with the execution of this my last Will and Testament, and hereby revoke all Wills and Testaments heretofore by me made and executed.

In witness whereof I have hereunto Subscribed my name and affixed my Seal at Scotsburn this twenty ninth day of December, in the year of our Lord, one Thousand eight hundred and eighty seven.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Alexander MacKay late of Scotsburn in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 4th. day of May A.D. 1888.
