Province of Nova Scotia Registrars Office Pictou 8th October 1891 I certify that the within Instrument was duly registered at noon of the above day in Book 100 pages 484 & 485 on the certificate of Wm Ross J.P. John Ferguson Reg.
This Indenture made the seventh day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninetyone Between Nathan Stiles of Pictou Town in the County of Pictou, Farmer and Mary Stiles his wife of the one Part, and Morrison MacDonald of Toney River in the County of Pictou aforesaid Farmer of the other Part.
Witnesseth that the said Nathan Stiles and Mary Stiles for and in consideration of One Thousand Dollars of lawful money of Canada to the said Nathan Stiles in hand well and truly paid by the said Morrison MacDonald at or before the sealing and delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, Do and each of them Doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release and confirm, unto the said Morrison MacDonald his Heirs and Assigns, All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate lying and being at the West end of the Town of Pictou, bounded as follows; Beginning at the South End Cornder of Hill Street and the West side of Coal Street, thence running West on Hill Street Sixty feet to a stake, thence running South parallel with Coal Street one hundred and five feet or to an iron pin, thence running East to Coal Street aforesaid, thence running North to the place of beginning.

Together with all and singular the houses, barns buildings, hereditaments, easements, and appurtenances to the same belonging, and the reversions, remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof, and all the estate, right, title, interest property claim and demand of the said Nathan Stiles and Mary Stiles, and all right of Dower or thirds of her the said Mary Stiles of, in or to the same. To have and to hold the said above granted and described land and premises with the appurtenances, unto, and to the use of the said Morrison MacDonald his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Nathan Stiles for himself his heirs, executors and administrators, doth hereby covenant with the said Morrison McDonald his heirs and assigns: — That he the said Nathan Stiles Hath and now stands possesed of a good, sure, perfect and indefeasable estate of inheritance in fee simple in the said land and premises and has also good right, full power and absolute authority, to grant and convey the same, in manner and form aforesaid according to the true intent and meaning hereof.

And also that the said Morrison McDonald his heirs and assigns, shall and may, at all times hereafter, peaceably and quietly, hold and enjoy the said land and premises, with the appurtenances, without hinderance or disturbance of, from, or by the said Nathan Stiles or any person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming the same, or any part thereof. And also that the said Nathan Stiles and his heirs, the said land and premises unto the said Morrison MacDonald his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims and demands of all persons, shall and will by these presents Warrant and for ever defend.

Be it remembered that on this seventh day of October AD 1891 before me, the subscriber, personally came and appeared Mary Stiles wife of Nathan Stiles mentioned in the foregoing indenture, who having been by me examined separtae and apart from her said husband, did declare and acknowledge that she executed the said indenture, as and for her act and deed, without fear, threat or compulsion, of, from, or by her said husband, and for a full release of all her claims to the land therein described.
