Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
In the name of God, Amen
I Lauchlin McInnes of Scotch Hill, County of Pictou, Province of Nova Scotia, being frail of body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given to God, calling unto mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and testament, that is to say, principally and first of all, I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God, that gave it, and my body I recommend to the earth, to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the directions of my executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection, I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God, And as to touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me, in this life, I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form,
First, I give and bequeath to John Angus McInnes, my dearly beloved son, all my lands, buildings, farm implements, whole stock, monies and debts to be by him possessed and for his sole use forever.
I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Christie McInnes a competent home, on this my present dwelling place, provided that she remains unmarried, if she is married she shall be free from the home, proposed in this instrument but shall receive the fifty dollars currant money at the day of my death.
I likewise constitute make and ordain Peter Fraser Hardwood Hill, and Peter McInnes, Scotch Hill my sole Executors of this last Will and Testament, and I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke, and disannul all and every other former testaments, wills, legacies, bequests, and executors by me in any wise before named, willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other, to be my last Will & testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal, this eleventh day of June, in the year of our lord One thousand eight hundred and ninety six.
