Estate of Duncan McGregor, late of Chance Harbor, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Certified Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

Know all men by these present, that I Duncan McGregor of Chance Harbor, taking into consideration the uncertainty of life and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs being of sound mind and memory Do hereby make and publish this to be my last Will and Testament.

I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Jessie McGregor all my personal property (except my eight day clock hereinafter to be disposed of) consisting of livestock, farming utensils or whatever personal property may be owned by me at the time of my decease including money due by note of hand or otherwise, To the Sole and absolute use of her the said Jessie McGregor and her heirs and assigns, together with the free and undisturbed possession of all the real estate owned by me at Chance Harbor in County aforesaid, and the free right to use the same as she may consider best for her maintenance during her lifetime also the use of the eight day clock hereinbefore mentioned until the time of my decease.

I give devise and bequeath unto my nephew Edward McGregor son of my sister Sarah McGregor all the Real Estate owned by me at Chance Harbor aforesaid, that is to say, after the decease of my wife the said Jessie McGregor, To Have and to hold the same together with the eight day clock hereinbefore mentioned, to him the said Edward McGregor and his heirs and assigns.

I give devise and bequeath unto my nephew Daniel McGregor son of my sister Sarah McGregor the sum of Fifty dollars the same to be a charge against my Real Estate, unless the said Edward McGregor shall pay to him the same.

I order and it is my will that my lawful debts and funeral expenses be paid by my Executor out of my Real Estate unless the said Edward McGregor shall pay the same.

And lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint Daniel McGregor hereinbefore mentioned to be Sole Executor of this my last Will and testament.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal at Chance Harbor in the County aforesaid this seventeenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight four

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Duncan McGregor late of Chance Harbor, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 1st. day of December A.D. 1890.
