Will of Alex McGillivray, deceased
Certified Copy for Reg of Deeds
I Alexander McGillivray of Bailey’s Brook in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia Farmer do make and ordain this my last will and testament
My will is first that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid by my executors hereinafter named out of my personal property.
I give devise and bequeath all the real and residue of my estate real personal and hereto of which I shall be seized or possessed and to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease to my beloved wife Mary for her own and my childrens support and maintenance.
I will and direct that moneys to my credit in Bank be applied to the education of my children as I always intended it should be.
I will and permit that if in the opinion of my executors it shall be used to the advantage and benefit of my wife and children to convert my estate into cash that the same may be disposed of at the best advantage either by private sale or public auction and that the proceeds thereof be judiciously applied to the support maintenance and education of my beloved children Mary Margaret, Margaret Ann, Catherine Teresa and Sara Maria.
I will that if it shall not be considered necessary by my executors to dispose of real estate in the manner for the purpose mentioned that the same be given to any one of my children or to all or any number of them according to the discretion of my executors or the survivor of them.
I will that my watch shall be given to my beloved wife as a special souvenir.
And I do nominate and appoint the reverend John F McMaster of Mabou and my wife Mary executor and executrix respectively of this my last will and testament.
In Testimony Whereof I have the testator have hereto set my hand this eighth day of February one thousand nine hundred and one.

Signed and declared by the testator to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.

I John D. McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Alexander McGillivray of late Bailey’s Brook in the County of Pictou Farmer deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 4th day of December AD 1902.
Witness my hand at Pictou aforesaid this 4th. day of December AD 1902.
