Estate of Samuel McDougald, late of Piedmont Valley, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Certified Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

Know all men by these present that I Samuel McDougald of Piedmont Valley in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, Farmer, being of sound and disposing mind  do  make publish and declare this my  last Will and Testament as follows.

1st. I give devise and bequeath to my daughter Christie Isabella McDougald, all my real estate comprising all that land on which I now resided for the past fifty years, and bounded as follows, on the east by lands of Hugh McDougald, on the north by lands owned by Charles McIntosh or by the rear line of the second division so called, on the west by lands in possession of Peter McIntosh and on the south by lands owned by the heirs of James Syisch, and to this bequest I attach the following condition, namely, That the said Isabella McDougald shall furnish a comfortable home and living to my Brother Hugh McDougald, during the term of his natural life.

2nd. I give and bequeath also to the said Christine Isabella McDougald all my personal estate, goods and chattels of every description, or so much thereof as shall remain after my just debts are paid, unconditionally.

3rd. I do hereby appoint my friend Charles McIntosh Executor and the said Christie Isabella McDougald Executrix of this my  last Will & Testament.

Subscribed at Piedmont Valley this the twenty ninth day of June in the year 1897.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Samuel McDougald, late of Piedmont Valley, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou, this 29th day of September A.D. 1897.
