Estate of William McDonald late of Churchville, Carpenter, deceased, Testate
Certified Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
This is the last Will and Testament of William McDonald of Churchville in the County of Pictou, Carpenter.
1sr. - I will and bequeath to my wife Catherine all of my personal property and effects for her Sole use forever.
2nd. - I give and bequeath to my said wife the use and control of all my Real Estate that s Farm on which I reside for a term of five years and after the expiration of said term of five years all of m y said farm or Real Estate will be and become the property of William Jay my son provided he my said son will at all times during the term of five years in which my said farm is controlled and in possession of my said wife assist her in every reasonable way to cultivate the said farm and behave towards her as a dutiful son in every respect, otherwise if my said son William Jay will persist in acting towards her my said wife in any improper and undutiful way she has full power in this my last Will and testament to say and decide which of my two sons William Jay or Alexander shall own and have and possess the said farm or Real Estate, and the one in whose favor she shall decided shall have the said farm for his Sole use forever.
3rd. I will, and it is the real interest and meaning of this my last Will and Testament that whatsoever one of my two sons William Jay or Alexander shall inherit own and have my said farm he shall after he comes into possession of said farm yearly and every year during the lifetime of my said wife Catherine perform and fulfil the following duties conditions and stipulations That is to say, he shall provide sufficient and proper feed and pasturage for one cow and four sheep, and take proper care of said animals at all times for her my said wife Catherine. Also give and deliver or cause to be delivered to her my said wife one third part of all grain cereals and pease root potatoes and vegetables of all kinds raised or produced on my said farm yearly and every year during her lifetime, Also he shall at all times during her lifetime all and give her for her Sole use the two rooms in the South east corner (one on each flat) of the house and also provide proper and good fuel sufficient for one fire ready prepared for use for her at all times during her lifetime and give and allow her the full use and provision of one half of the cellar under the house on said farm during her lifetime, And shall also convey or cause her my said wife to be conveyed with horse and vehicle to Church or any place she may have proper occasion to go at all reasonable times during her lifetime. And also he shall at all times during the lifetime of my daughter Kate Ross give her a hoe and provide for her all the comforts and give her all privileges enjoyed by his own family.
4th. - I appoint my John Peter Fraser of New Glasgow and John K. Robertson of Ferrona Executors of this my last Will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and Seal Subscribed and set at Churchville this twenty second day of July A.D. 1895.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of William McDonald late of Churchville, in the County of Pictou, Carpenter, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
