Estate of William MacDonald late of West River Road, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Certified Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
I William MacDonald of "Cornhill Farm" West River Road County of Pictou, Farmer, being of sound disposing mind and memory do make this my last Will and testament.
I hereby appoint George McDougall my brother in law of the town of New Glasgow and Alexander Robert McQueen of said town to be executors of my Will.
I hereby direct my said executors to pay all just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses as soon after as possible after my decease.
I hereby devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Jessie MacDonald all that piece or parcel of land known as "Cornhill Farm", situate on West River Road, County of Pictou, consisting of one hundred acres more or less, together with all the buildings, farm implements, rights and privileges thereto belonging, with all the live stock, consisting of horses, cattle, sheep and fowl, to have and to hold during the period of her natural life, and after her decease to my beloved son Alexander MacDonald, the said son, Alexander MacDonald to pay my beloved son George MacDonald the sum of two hundred dollars on his, the said George MacDonald attainting his twenty first birth day.
This further a condition of this will that the said son Alexander MacDonald is after my decease to live on the farm, take charge of it working and managing it for the mutual benefit of himself and my wife Jessie MacDonald, if she may then be living.
In the event of my said son Alexander MacDonald failing to comply with the aforesaid conditions then, after the decease of my wife Jessie MacDonald, the farm, buildings, farm implements, live stock, and all appurtenances to be sold by private sale, or public Auction, the proceeds of such sale after deducting all necessary expenses to be equally shared by my two sons Alexander MacDonald and George MacDonald, if then both living, otherwise to the surviving son.
I hereby bequeath to my beloved son George MacDonald the sum of Two hundred dollars ($200.00)
I hereby bequeath to my beloved daughter Annie wife of Howard Brown the sum of one dollar.
I hereby bequeath to my wife Jessie MacDonald all the residue of my personal property, consisting of Cash, promissory notes, book accounts, or any debts otherwise due me, to have and dispose of as she may deem proper.
In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand this 20th. day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and ninety six.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one & a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of William MacDonald late of West River Road in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou, this 28th day of October A.D. 1896.
