Estate of Malcolm McDonald late of Pictou Island, Farmer, deceased, Testate.

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

This last will and testament of Malcolm McDonald of Pictou Island in the County of Pictou Farmer.

I Malcolm McLeod being in feeble health but of sound mind and memory do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say.

I give and bequeath to my son John L. McDonald one half of the farm on which I know reside together with one half of the stock and Implements connected with my Farm.

I also give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Christy McLeod McDonald the other half of my Farm during her natural life. But at the expiration of which the said half of property passes to some member of the family as she and the Executors see proper.

I also bequeath unto my sister Catherine McDonald who is up in years her support of or from the whole Farm and in the house during her natural life.

I also bequeath unto my two daughters Catherine Ann McDonald and Maggie McDonald, a home in the house and their support of the farm on which I now reside, should they claim and need the same.

Also that my two other daughters Flora McDonald and Sarah McDonald have a home in the old Homestead if they remain here.

I give and bequeath unto my son Alex McDonald one cow if should get discontented and go away and not help to support his mother during her lifetime.

I hereby constitute and appoint my wife Christy McLeod McDonald to be my Executrix and Alex F. Campbell in John C. McDonald to be the Executors of this my last Will and testament.

In witness whereof I have here unto my hand and Seal Subscribed and set the twenty eighth day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and eighty nine.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one & a half pages is an exact & literal copy of the last Will and testament of Malcolm McDonald late of Pictou Island, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate, in accordance with the practice of the Court.
