Article from the Feb. 23, 1923 issue of the Pictou Advocate about Constable R.C. Soy attempting to fine Dr. Irwin of Westville for violating liquor restrictions.
Prohibition was enforced nationwide in 1918, although by then several provinces and Maritime towns had already voted themselves 'dry' - meaning that they incorporated laws to limited and restricted alcohol in their regions - by the turn of the century.
