Taken from the Aug. 17, 1923 issue of the Pictou Advocate, an article about moonshiners on Westville Road being caught and fined by police.
Prohibition was enforced nationwide in 1918, although by then several provinces and Maritime towns had already voted themselves 'dry' - meaning that they incorporated laws to limited and restricted alcohol in their regions - by the turn of the century.
