Article from the March 16, 1923 issue of the Pictou Advocate concerning a seizure of $1000 worth of illegal liquor. It was led by Police Chief Osborne, and officers Thompson and MacKey.
Prohibition was enforced nationwide in 1918, although by then several provinces and Maritime towns had already voted themselves 'dry' - meaning that they incorporated laws to limited and restricted alcohol in their regions - by the turn of the century.
