Taken from the April 3, 1862 issue of the Eastern Chronicle. Advertisement placed by Alexander Archibald selling the Albert Steam Mills in West River. The mill's engine was built by Pictou's W.H. Davies, who came to Pictou County in the 1830s to work at the Albion Mines in their foundry. By the 1850s, he had left the mines for Pictou in order to open up the Pictou Iron Foundry, the building for which still stands on Front Street in Pictou today.
