Estate of John D. Macdonald late of Pictou, Esquire, deceased Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds.
This is the last Will and Testament of me John D. Macdonald of Pictou in the County of Pictou, Esquire.
I John D. Macdonald of Pictou in the County of Pictou Esquire, being of sound mind and memory do hereby make publish and declare this my last Will and testament in manner following that is to say -
I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my son Edward Mortimer Macdonald to be the Executor of this my last Will and testament, and I do hereby revoke all former Wills and Testamentary dispositions and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.
I will devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Isabel Macdonald all my real estate wheresoever situate of which I may die possessed for and during the term of her natural life, and upon her death to my beloved son Edward Mortimer Macdonald his heirs and assigns forever.
I will devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Isabel Macdonald all my personal property of every nature and sort for her Sole and separate use.
I direct my Executors to collect in all the debts due and owing to me and to realize upon all such choices in action and claims as I may have at the time of my death and out of the proceeds of the same to pay off all my just and lawful debts and hand the balance if any to my beloved wife Mary Isabel Macdonald.
I appoint my wife Mary Isabel Macdonald to be the guardian of my infant children John David, Mary Anna, Charles and Eleanor and Peter.
I desire and it is my express wish that my wife, my executor, and my son George William - shall do all within their power to assist and enable my son Peter McLaren Macdonald to complete his education and to obtain to the profession to which he now looks forward in consideration of the unremitting care and attention he has bestowed in me in my illness.
I devise all estates vested in me as a trustee or executor to my executor Edward Mortimer Macdonald subject to the trusts and equities affecting the same respectively and I do nominate and appoint my said executor Edward Mortimer Macdonald to act in my stead and as my Successor as Executor of the last Will and testament of the late Joseph Baxter and in any and all other capacities in which as my representative and in my stead he may legally act.
In witness whereof I have set my hand and affixed my seal to this my last Will and testament this twenty fourth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred ad eighty eight.

Signed by the above John D. Macdonald as his last Will in the presence of us both being present at the same time who in his presence and in the presence of each other have here unto Subscribed our names as witnesses.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of two pages is an exact and literal copy of the last will and testament of John D. Macdonald, late of Pictou, in the County of Pictou, Esquire, deceased, Testate, which is been duly filed and admitted to Probate, in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this first day of December A.D. 1888.
