Will of John McDonald, deceased

Certified Copy for Reg of Deeds

I John McDonald of Upper Hopewell in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia farmer being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make publish and ordain this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former will by me at any time heretofore made.

1st.I hereby constitute and appoint my beloved sons Duncan Joseph McDonald and Daniel Brown McDonald to be my executors of this my Will directing my said Executors to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses and the legacies hereinafter given out of my estate.

2nd. After the payment of my said debts and funeral expenses I give devise and bequeath to my beloved Wife Ellen McDonald during her natural life all the real estate I which I may be possessed at my Death,

3rd. At the death of my said beloved Wife Ellen McDonald I give devise and bequeath to my Son Duncan Joseph McDonald all the real estate mentioned in the foregoing clause of this my last will.

4th. I give devise and bequeath to beloved wife Ellen McDonald all moneys and notes of hand or other securities of which I may be possessed at the time of my Death the interest of such and as much of the Principal as she deems necessary for her comfort and welfare to be used by her at her discretion and at her death the residue of such moneys, notes of hand and other securities I give devise and bequeath to my son Duncan Brown McDonald.

5th. I give devise and bequeath to my son Duncan Joseph McDonald all farming stock and implements and all other personal property of which I May be possessed at the time of my death with the exception of moneys, notes of hand and other securities mentioned in clause number four of this my last will.

In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and Six.

I John D. McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of John McDonald late of Upper Hopewell in the said County Farmer deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 30th day of March 1907.

Witness my hand at Pictou aforesaid this 30th. day of March 1907.
