Estate of John McDonald late of Sunny Brae, Farmer, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

I John McDonald Widower, of Sunny Brae East River of Pictou, in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, Farmer, make and publish this my last Will and testament.

1st. give and bequeath to my son Peter the real estate or lot of land on which I now reside situated at Sunny Brae aforesaid, and in said County and Province and bounded by the land of Daniel McDonald, James Cumming, John Thompson, and the said East River, together with the following personal property viz. the Horses, Cattle, Sheep and farming implements, also House and Household furniture & Barns, To have and to hold the said described the real and personal properties to him the said Peter McDonald his heirs and assigns for ever.

2nd. And that Peter would at the time Elisabeth my Daughter would be married would Provide her Decently, at her Departure.

3rd. – And also that he would Provide also in the same way for Catherine Rofs if she stays with hi at such times as she got married that he would put her off decently.

4th. Also that the said Peter after my decease, that he would Provide for a head stone for myself and wives, and that my own Body wold be put in the same grave as my first wife.

5th. – And also that Duncan my son would have a home with Peter my son as long as he behaved himself orderly and Decently, as he ought too.

I hereby appoint Thomas McDonald of Sunny Brae East River in said County to be the Executor of this my Will.

In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand Seal this fifth Day day of October A.D. 1883.

Signed Sealed and published and declared as his last Will by the said John McDonald in the presence of us, who in his presence, and in the presence of each other and at his request have hereunto Subscribed our names as witnesses.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page and part of a page,, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of John McDonald, late of Sunny Brae in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this fifteenth day of December A.D. 1883.
