Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

In the name of God, Amen. I James Macdonald of Stellarton in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, Calleth to mind the certainty of death, and the uncertain time thereof do make this my last Will and Testament as follows.

1st. – I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret Macdonald all the real estate now owned and occupied by me being the homestead and lot of land of about 25 acres at Stellarton until her death then to be divided among my Heirs at Law as she thinks proper.

2nd. I give devise and bequeath to my wife all personal and moveable property of which I may die possessed also a life Policy of one thousand dollars in the Canada Life assurance Company No. of Policy 1504. I also give her authority to sell and dispose of lots of the above described property to maintain herself and my Children as she thinks they require it. She is to educate and keep my sons L.K. MacDonald, W.M.P. MacDonald and G.T. MacDonald until they are able to provide for themselves. She is also to make a home for my daughter Annie MacDonald so long as she remains single and if able to assist her mother.

I appoint my beloved wife Margaret Macdonald and James Keith my Executors of this my last Will and Testament to which I affix my hand and Seal this second day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred ad Eighty-Six.
