Certified Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

The last Will and Testament of Hugh MacDonald of Pictou Island, in the County of Pictou, Farmer.

I Hugh MacDonald living in feeble health, but of sound mind and memory, do make, publish, and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and from following, that is to say,

I give and bequeath to my niece Agnes McCallum one Cow.

I give and bequeath to my sister Isabella McCallum the use of the house in which she now resides, and one acre of land surrounding the said house measuring eight rods on the road and extending twenty rods northwardly, to have and to hold the same for the term of her natural life.

I give and devise to my beloved wife Christie MacDonald her heirs and assigns (something scratched out and initialed) all my Real Estate whatsoever, and lastly I give and bequeath all my personal property to my beloved wife Christie MacDonald subject to the above bequests, my just debts and funeral expenses.

I hereby constitute and appoint my wife Christie MacDonald to be the Executrix and Alexander F. Campbell to be the Executor of this my last Will and testament, Hereby revoking all other wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and Seal Subscribed and Set the twenty first day of February in the year of our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and eighty seven.

Signed, Sealed, published, and declared by the said Hugh MacDonald, as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who in his presence, at his request, and in the presence of each other have Subscribed our names as witnesses hereto.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Hugh MacDonald, late of Pictou Island in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this 2nd. day of June A.D. 1888.
