Estate of Duncan McDonald, late of Hopewell, Farmer, deceased, Testate
Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds
I Duncan McDonald of Hopewell in the County and Province of Nova Scotia, Farmer, do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament.
First. I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Jessie All my real estate and personal property, to have and to hold the same to her own use during the term of her natural life.
Second. I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Lizzie, two thirds, and to my daughter Jessie one third of the remainder of my real and personal property after the death of my wife, with the right to a home with my wife at my house at Hopewell, so long as they remain unmarried, and nurse and wait upon my wife.
Third. I give devise and bequeath unto my Daughter Margaret Eight dollars at the discretion of my Executors, if they are of opinion, that such payment would not materially injure the rights of the before mentioned Devizes.
I nominate and appoint Alexander McDonald of Springville, Carpenter, and John McKay of Millbrook, Farmer, Executors of this my said last Will and Testament and hereby Authorize and Empower them in the event of my said daughters Lizzie and Jessie marrying or leaving their mother without a suitable nurse and for that purpose to sell and convey all or any part of my said estate, that may be necessary, to furnish my said wife with proper maintenance, nursing and attendance during her life, and at her death to divide the remainder in the proportions hereinbefore mentioned.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Duncan McDonald late of Hopewell in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 31st. day of July A.D. 1889.
