Will of Duncan McDonald (Roy), deceased
Certified Copy for Reg of Deeds
Know all men by these present that I Duncan McDonald (Roy) of |St. Paul’s East Branch East River in the County of Pictou being of sound disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and Testament.
1st. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth that certain lot of land situate at the head of East River and lying between Donald Chisholm’s and Sutherland’s consisting of four hundred acres more or less.
2nd. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth that certain lot of land in the barrens so called and situate on the second division and on the West side of East Rive consisting of one hundred and fifty acres more or less
3rd. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth that certain lot of land situate on the East Side of East River and adjoining John McPhee’s McDonald’s.
Also she is to have the privilege and power to sell the aforementioned lots in order to pay of debts and if there is a balance remaining after paying off the debts she can divide it among the children as she deems proper for their benefit but first she can use what is necessary for herself before dividing among the children.
4th. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth all my homestead farm on which I now reside Situate on the West side of East River and adjoining Frederick McDonald’s, John A. Campbell, John McDonald, ogg, and East River containing two hundred acres more or less and she can dispose of the iron ore on said property which belongs to me by the old grant in order to meet demands that may come against the property, and she is to have a comfortable living of the property during the term of her natural life and she will be at liberty to Deed it to Alexander or James Dan my sons and if that is not done during her life time it reverts at her death to Alexander and James Dan my sons.
5th. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth all the personal property that I own about the premises.
6th. I ordain and appoint Frederick McDonald Elder as my executor, and Elizabeth my wife executrix of this my last Will and Testament.
In Testimony Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal and publish and declare this to be my last Will and testament in the presence of the witnesses named below this fourth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety seven.

I John D. McLeod Registrar of said Court do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true copy of the last Will and Testament of Duncan McDonald (Roy) late of Sunny Brae in the County of Pictou Farmer deceased which said will was duly admitted to Probate in said Court at Pictou on the 11th. day of February AD 1903.
Witness my hand at Pictou aforesaid this 11th. day of February AD 1903.
