Estate of Joseph Baker late of New Glasgow, Shoemaker, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

Know all men by these presents that I Joseph Baker of New Glasgow, In the County of Pictou, and Province of Nova Scotia, Shoemaker, Being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and publish this to be my last Will and testament.

First. I give devise and Bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth Baker, all my Real and personal Estate situated and lying at New Glasgow aforesaid and Described as follows. Beginning at a stake on a certain line of lands, the Property of the Halifax Mining Company, thence to run a Northwesterly Direction until it strikes the line of lands sold by me the said Joseph Baker to one Andrew McLean thence along said Andrew McLean’s line to a certain road, thence along said road until it strikes the corner of the late William Duff’s land, from thence to place of beginning Containing one acre more or less, Together with all and singular the houses, buildings, ways, water courses, improvements, these unto belonging or in any wise appertaining.

Second I give and bequeath each of my children namely, Anna, Phoebe, Eliza, Elizabeth Mary, Christy Ann, and Sarah Ann, the sum of twenty five cents each of lawful money of Nova Scotia, to each and every one of them.

Thirdly. I do hereby constitute, ordain, and appoint my wife Elizabeth Baker aforesaid and my friend John Conn of Spring Hill In the County of Cumberland, and Province aforesaid, to be the Executors of this my last Will and Testament.

In witness whereof I the said Joseph have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set this fifth day of November In the Year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and seventy nine.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one and a half pages, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Joseph Baker late of New Glasgow, in the County of Pictou, Shoemaker, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
