Nov 27th 1895
Know all man by these presents that I, David Ross of Black River, Pictou Co., N.S. Miller & Tanner, do hereby make my last Will and Testament.
1st. I will, devise & bequeath that all my just and lawful debts be first paid out of my estate.
2nd. I will, devise and bequeath, that my daughter Mabel Jane is to get my organ and my son Robert is to get my watch and a watch is to be bought for Blanche.
3rd. I will, devise and bequeath that my sister Bella have the use of the ten acres of land bought from my brother Robert Ross, to help support my brother Duncan and then after Bella's death this ten acres of land is to be sold and the proceeds to go to erect headstones or monuments for my family and if there is any money left to erect headstones for my brother Robert's family.
4th. I will, devise and bequeath that my business be closed up as soon as possible, and all my real and personal property sold as soon as convenient and the proceeds devoted to the education of my children, and if any balance remains, it is to be equally divided among my children, but if any one of them should be disabled or unable to earn their living this balance is to be devoted to their maintenance.
5th. I appoint my brother William Ross to be my Sole executor, and also the Guardian of my children.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of David Ross late of Black River, in the County of Pictou, Miller & Tanner, deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.
Given under my hand at Pictou this 24th. day of January A.D. 1896.
