Estate of Catherine Rofs late of Black River, Widow, deceased, Testate

Copy of Will for the Registrar of Deeds

In the name of God, Amen. I Catherine Ross of Black River, County of Pictou, and Providence of Nova Scotia, Widow, being of sound disposing mind and memory Do hereby make my last Will and Testament.

Firstly, I nominate and appoint David Ross of Black River aforesaid tanner to be the guardian of my children during their minority. Secondly, I will bequeath and devise to the said David Ross, as guardian all my personal and real estate of all kinds whatsoever in trust for the sole benefit and use of my children Emma and Samuel David and Leslie and Robert W Clements until they or the survivors of them reach the age of twenty one years and I give to the said David Ross power to convey, sell, let or lease or otherwise dispose of the said estate as it may appear necessary to him for the benefit of my children and my will is that when my said children or the survivor of them attain their majority the residue of the estate then remaining shall be divided among them in equal portions but in the event of any of my children being then in poor health the said David Ross shall have power to divide the portion of the estate then remaining in such manner as shall seem good to him.

My will is further that all lawful debts against me be paid and my funeral expenses out of my estate.

Lastly I nominate David Ross aforesaid to be the executor of this my last Will and Testament executed the 17th day of December A.D. 1884.

I do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument consisting of one page, is an exact and literal copy of the last Will and Testament of Catherine Ross late of Pictou, in the County of Pictou, Widow deceased, Testate, which has been duly filed and admitted to Probate in accordance with the practice of the Court.

Given under my hand at Pictou this ninth day of November A.D. 1885.
